What I learned...

I have noticed how easy it is to say things that sound good, but if you think a bit more about them, you realize how little they actually mean. I remember a person who, upon losing election to a youth group office, told us all he would like to have all our children (think about what it means). In another example, from yesterday's Republican convention, Barbara Bush, speaking with her sister about her parents, said:

But, we've learned a lot more from them [President and Mrs. Bush]. About what matters in life.

About unconditional love. Haven't seen this one

About focus and discipline. Not required. Mr. Bush is the example here

They taught us the importance of a good sense of humor. Yeah, Mr. Bush the kidder

Of being open-minded DO NOT DO THIS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

and treating everyone with respect. I SAID NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

And, we learned the true value of honesty and integrity. NO VALUE (taught by example)

Any questions?
